However, it may be necessary to clean the ears of your dog\/cat\/rabbit with a suitable product if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the\u00a0<strong>amount of earwax<\/strong>\u00a0is abnormally high<\/li>\n<li><strong>hair at the entrance<\/strong>\u00a0or in the ear canal and\/or its narrowness leads to the formation of\u00a0<strong>plugs<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>a\u00a0<strong>lack of ventilation<\/strong>\u00a0(pendulous ears\u2026) encourages the growth of microbes, causing bad odors and otitis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Breeds with a predisposition to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dermoscent.com\/accueil\/en\/nos-conseils\/otitis-externa-in-dogs-ans-cats-recognizing-it-in-order-to-better-control-it\/\">otitis<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0also require regular maintenance: drooping or hairy ears (beagles, poodles, etc.), long, narrow or winding ear canals (cocker spaniels, shar-pei, etc.) or breeds prone to allergies (bulldogs, westies, etc.)<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>NB: cleansing clean and healthy ears with unsuitable or excessive amounts of products can cause irritation.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"single-advice-inside-content\">\n<h2>Cleansing your dog, cat or rabbit\u2019s ears: a how-to guide<\/h2>\n<h3>When should I start and how often should I do it?<\/h3>\n<p>It is recommended to\u00a0<strong>inspect your pet\u2019s ears once a week<\/strong>\u00a0in order to spot any abnormalities (such as a different color of earwax, redness, pain, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>To find out whether you need to cleanse your pet\u2019s ears, ask your veterinarian for advice.<\/p>\n<p>In average, you are advised to<strong>\u00a0cleanse your pet\u2019s ears 1 to 2 times a month<\/strong>.
