Discover our tips on how to prepare for a no-stress departure:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"single-advice-content\">\n<div class=\"single-advice-inside-content\">\n<h2>What are the \u201chealth requirements\u201d to be fulfilled for your pet before going on vacation?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Depending on your destination, the requirements may differ<\/strong>. Think about checking them before departure.<\/p>\n<p>If you are traveling to a European Union country, your pet will need to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be a minimum of\u00a0<strong>three years old<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>get a\u00a0<strong>EU pet passport<\/strong>\u00a0from your vet<\/li>\n<li><strong>be up to date on their vaccinations<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>be identifiable by a\u00a0<strong>microchip<\/strong>\u00a0(or for pets born before 07\/03\/2011, by a tattoo).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Note: The United Kingdom, Finland, Malta and Ireland have additional requirements.\u00a0<\/strong>Certain breeds of dogs are forbidden in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"single-advice-inside-content\">\n<h2>What is the most suitable mode of transportation for your pet?<\/h2>\n<p>Depending on your destination, whether you have a cat or a dog, and depending on its personality, some means of transportation may be preferable to others.<\/p>\n<h3>Traveling by car with your four-legged friend<\/h3>\n<p>If the size of your pet allows for it, you can use a<strong>\u00a0travel crate<\/strong>. Place him\/her at the\u00a0<strong>back of your vehicle<\/strong>\u00a0where he\/she will be more comfortable. Ideally,\u00a0<strong>avoid having your pet eat before leaving<\/strong>, and remember to take regular breaks (every two hours) so he\/she can run around and have a drink.
